What Happened During the First Season of I Turned Pretty?

Summer brings Belly, her mother Laurel, and sibling Steven to Susannah’s seaside cottage. This summer, Belly desires to kiss her first admirer, Conrad. Taylor, her closest friend, believes Conrad will notice her this year because she has matured.

At the summer residence, Susannah, Jeremiah, and Conrad reunite with Belly’s family. That evening, Belly sneaks away to a campfire gathering. She battles Steven, argues with Conrad as he kisses Nicole, and is accidentally struck in the face by an unknown individual. Cam’s belly is kissed by Belly. Police transport the youths home. Laurel rages.

After Susannah proposes that Belly attend the debutante gala this summer, they go on a shopping excursion. Steven and Jeremiah begin their labour. Belly begins her training as a debutante at the country club. Nicole (the girlfriend of Conrad) and Shayla (the girlfriend of Steven) imbibe from Hipflasks.

Cam is seeing Belly. Susannah hosts the book celebration for Laurel. Cleveland encounters Laurel. The adolescents left the party to humiliate Belly. She gives Cam a kiss as they depart. Steven accepts Shayla’s invitation to the gala. Belly argues with Conrad because he ruined her engagement.

Crew members commemorate Belly’s sixteenth birthday with gifts. Conrad, still enraged from last night, lies about neglecting Belly’s present. Taylor is driven by Belly to the train station for her first lesson. Taylor desires for Belly to attend a party that evening in order to hear all the chatter.

Taylor observes the change in Belly. Conrad teaches sailing to Cleveland. The guys humiliate Belly in front of Cam during her birthday dinner. Belly is serenaded by Jeremiah at Nicole’s gathering. After Taylor caresses Steven upstairs, Belly and her best friend argue.

Taylor considers Belly to be egocentric. Belly discovers Conrad’s present, a beautiful necklace, in his compartment. Steven wants Belly to conceal Taylor’s affair. Taylor has left. Susannah informs Laurel that she is discontinuing chemotherapy.

Fathers commemorate the Fourth of July at their summer home. John, the father of Belly, arrives with Victoria. Jeremiah and Conrad’s father surprise and struggle over Susannah. He is not welcome. She desires a divorce after his infidelity. Belly becomes intoxicated from Victoria’s margaritas.

After informing Shayla, Belly flirts with Conrad. Steven kissed Taylor. Conrad asserts he purchased the necklace. They consent to a casual relationship after Shayla confronts Steven about the kiss.

Susannah is tripped by Belly, spoiling the cake. Laurel and Susannah have a disagreement regarding end-of-life care. At a bar, Laurel drinks and lays with Cleveland. They make peace. While Conrad and Belly are kissing, Jeremiah comes close to striking them with a pyrotechnic.
