Her mother’s disappearance haunts Velma, making her otherwise snarky exterior vulnerable due to self-doubt and guilt.

As Fred Jones, the heartthrob of Crystal Cove High, Glenn Howerton lends his voice to this version. While undeniably popular, Fred isn’t exactly known for his intellect.

It is Sam Richardson who plays Norville Rogers, Velma’s loyal best friend. Unlike the classic Shaggy Rogers, Norville is brave and assertive, although he still loves snacks.

The dynamic of the group is further complicated by his secret crush on Velma.

A popular student with a mysterious past, Daphne Blake is voiced by Constance Wu.

It is implied that her relationship with Velma is more than just friendship, adding a modern twist to the classic dynamic between the two women.

Plot

The newfound fame of Velma throws her off. She’s still keen on solving riddles, but her newfound fame throws her off. Can she balance being cool and doing her job as a spy at the same time? Due to her friends’ problems in their own lives, Velma is mostly on her own to solve the new riddle, whatever it is.

Are they going to be able to work out their differences and reunite as Mystery Inc.?

“Velma” looks like it will be a fun season to watch, whether you are a Scooby-Doo fan or just like a good adult cartoon comedy with a hint of mystery.
