Wheel of Time Season 3 Release Date: In the unlikely event that you missed it, the second season of The Wheel of Time premiered on Amazon Prime Video late last week. Based on the same-titled book series by Robert Jordan, the fantasy series tells the story of Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the Aes Sedai, who embarks on a journey with five young people in the belief that one of them is the Dragon’s reincarnation and will either save or destroy the world.
Even though the first three episodes of season two were just released, many fans, including ourselves, are already wondering if this will be the last time we see the cast or if they will return for a third season.
Here is everything we presently know about The Wheel of Time season three.
Is There a Third Season of the Wheel of Time?
Happy news!According to Variety, season three of The Wheel of Time has already been guaranteed for July 2022, before the premiere of season two this year.
Last year at Comic-Con, The Wheel of Time’s showrunner Rafe Judkins made the major announcement:
“I’m so thrilled that we’ll be making a third season of ‘The Wheel of Time,'” said Rafe Judkins, series executive producer and showrunner. “The Shadow Rising has always been my favorite book in the series, so being able to bring it to television and introduce new audiences to the stories that made me fall in love with these books in the first place is such an honor, and something I’ve been working toward since I pitched the show years ago.”
Wheel of Time Season 3: Plot
As previously noted by showrunner Rafe Judkins, season three of The Wheel of Time will cover The Shadow Rising, the fourth novel in Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time trilogy.
The official summary of The Shadow Rising is as follows:
The legendary impregnable fortress Stone of Tear has collapsed. The Children of the Dragon have responded to the call of prophecy and marched to the Light’s aid. Rand al’Thor, the man proclaimed to be the Dragon Reborn, possesses Callandor, the Sword That Is Not a Sword.
However, the shadows continue to lengthen and the Forsaken continue to gain strength. Rand must conquer the male half of the True Source, a power corrupted by the Dark One, a power that drives men mad, a power that may save or damn the world, if he is to defeat them.
The first season concentrated on the first novel in the series, The Eye of the World, while the second season focused on the second and third novels, The Great Hunt and The Dragon Reborn, respectively.

Wheel of Time Season 3: Release Date
Season three of The Wheel of Time does not yet have an official release date, but judging by the length of time between seasons one and two, we may have to wait a while.
After filming began in early 2020, the premiere of season one occurred in November 2021. The production of the second season of the program began in July 2021, and it will now debut in September 2023.
The release of new seasons of The Wheel of Time every two years suggests that season three will not be available until at least 2025.
Currently, Season 2 of The Wheel of Time is available on Prime Video.
