Entrance Exams

NEET-UG and CUET-UG Held Between June 3 to 5 and June 5 to 8 In Manipur

The NTA announced that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) for admissions to undergraduate programmes will be administered in the state

NEET-UG and CUET-UG: The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Friday that the medical entrance exam NEET-UG, which was postponed in Manipur due to the law and order situation, will now be administered on any date between June 3 and 5.

The NTA announced that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) for admissions to undergraduate programmes will be administered in the state from June 5 to 8 and from June 5 to 17 for admissions to postgraduate courses.

NEET-UG and CUET-UG

“The NTA has carefully reviewed the law and order situation in Manipur in consultation with the state administration, and the state government has decided to offer exam centres to candidates for NEET-UG, CUET-UG, and CUET-PG,” said Sadhana Parashar, senior director of the NTA.

“The option to change the examination city is also available to those candidates in Manipur who did not appear for or missed NEET-UG, CUET-UG because of the law and order situation, regardless of whether they downloaded their admit cards or not,” she added.

Violence has erupted in Manipur over a proposal to grant Scheduled Tribe status to the predominant Metei community. On May 3, Naga and Kuki tribal members who oppose this proposal organised a ‘Tribal Solidarity March’, which sparked the violence.

While NEET-UG was administered nation-wide on May 7, CUET-UG began on May 21.

The candidates who were originally scheduled to take their examinations in Manipur can now choose between Aizawl (Mizoram), Kohima/Dimapur (Nagaland), Shillong (Meghalaya), Guwahati, Jorhat, and Silchar (Assam), Kolkata (West Bengal), Delhi, Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Imphal (Manipur).

“From 7 a.m. on May 26 to 7 p.m. on May 30, candidates from Manipur will have access to the exam city option via the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). A message to this effect will be sent to each candidate’s mobile number listed on the online application for the relevant examination. Candidates must use their registered mobile number to access this service via IVRS, according to Parashar.
