NIFT 2020 BDes Situation Test Cancelled – latest updates

While the NIFT 2020 B. Des written test for CAT and GAT was conducted on January 19, 2020, the result of the written test was released on March 13, 2020.

NIFT 2020 B.Des Situation Test Cancelled: The National Institute of Fashion Technology has cancelled the situation test for B. Des 2020 in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

“The situation test for the Bachelor of Design course which was scheduled now stands cancelled in view of COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting uncertainty. A fresh set of guidelines for selection of candidates to its Bachelor of Design course has also been released by the institute,” pointed out the notification issued by the institute.

Referring to the new selection criteria for Bachelor of Design Course, the notice further pointed out that the marks obtained by the candidates in the written tests (CAT and GAT) will be considered for declaration of the final result on the basis of which final merit list will be prepared.

While the NIFT 2020 B. Des written test for CAT and GAT was conducted on January 19, 2020, the result of the written test was released on March 13, 2020.

According to the notice, the result released on 13th March 2020 will now be considered as final for both Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) will be considered as final.

This apart, the final result and merit list for the B. Des programme will be released on June 25, 2020 and the criteria for counselling and selection for BFT (Apparel Selection) will be available on the official website.

Important points at a glance

For candidates should note that those who have applied for admission to Master of Design, Master of Fashion Technology and Master of Fashion Management, as per the new selection criteria the group discussion has been cancelled and online interviews will be held from June 26, 2020. Candidates will be required to register for the online interviews from June 19 to June 21, 2020.
