COVID-19 outbreak: AMU Vice Chancellor urges for e-teaching

Prof Mansoor emphasised that all faculty members should ensure that their updated email addresses and phone numbers are available on their webpage on the University website.

Coronavirus Outbreak: In the wake of COVID-19, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor has appealed AMU teachers to help students through email and other electronic mode interactions for overcoming the loss of classes and tutorials.

“Since, the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has thrown a challenge to entire teaching community; the AMU teachers should make available to students, the study materials online. Every faculty member is provided the facility to upload the study material in pdf form on their webpage of the University website,” said the Vice Chancellor.

He urged the teachers to regularly upload the study material and also circulate it via whatsapp and/or emails.

“PPT of the lectures, which teachers use in the classroom should also be made available online,” said Prof Mansoor.

Vice Chancellor’s letter further informed that the University will be uploading information related to open access materials offered through online sources like various MOOCs portals such as Swayam (swayam.gov.in), National Repository of Open Educational Resources (nroer.gov.in), etc on the University website.

He pointed out that since in many courses require project/assignment submission for internal assessment; students should be allowed to submit the projects online.

Prof Mansoor emphasised that all faculty members should ensure that their updated email addresses and phone numbers are available on their webpage on the University website.
