Nitin Desai Cause of Death: Mansi, the daughter of renowned art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai, stated in a statement that her father would make all of the pledged payments. The renowned art director was discovered deceased at his ND Studio in Khalapur Raigad, close to Karjat, on August 2. Allegedly, Desai committed suicide. According to Mahesh Baldi, a local BJP MLA from Karjat, the art director allegedly took this action due to financial duress. In the last five years, the four-time National Award-winning art director had significantly less work than in the preceding decades.

Desai was renowned for designing lavish settings for the films Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Jodha Akbar, Lagaan, and Devdas. Additionally, he worked on films such as 1942: A Love Story, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Baadshah, Munnabhai M.B.A., and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai. Panipat and Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo were the last high-budget films for which Desai served as art director.
