Anti-Bullying Week 2023: Annual Anti-Bullying Week occurs during the third week of November. It is conducted from November 13 to November 17 this year. Recognizing the enduring impact that bullying can have on the mental well-being and overall quality of life of its victims, the holiday promotes a zero-tolerance policy in an effort to combat the problem. Communities and schools can establish systems to eliminate intimidation and foster a welcoming, secure environment for all. Anti-Bullying Week is observed in the United Kingdom with the participation of thousands of institutions and the coordination of hundreds of student and faculty volunteers.

Anti-Bullying Week 2023: History

The National Children’s Bureau (N.C.B.) of the United Kingdom and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty (N.S.P.C.C.) founded the Anti-Bullying Alliance in 2002. The N.C.B. hosted the Anti-Bullying Alliance, which aimed to spread knowledge about all forms of bullying that kids and teenagers experience. They supported learning, disseminated best practices, organized national and local programs, and promoted awareness during Anti-Bullying Week by virtue of their membership. The inaugural Anti-Bullying Week occurred from November 22 to November 26, 2004. Each year, Anti-Bullying Week features a unique theme.

Anti-Bullying Week 2012 commemorated the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s tenth anniversary with the theme “We’re Better Off Without Bullying.” A Parliamentary Reception was hosted by Jessica Lee M.P. on behalf of the organization. The volunteer police cadets, the Young Mayor team, the Council for Disabled Children, and Changing Faces all delivered presentations in which they shared their experiences and outlined their top priorities for forthcoming anti-bullying initiatives. “Made in Chelsea” actress Millie Mackintosh appeared on a live web show, during which she addressed her personal struggle with bullying and provided guidance for young people undergoing similar circumstances.

The Anti-Bullying Association first implemented “Odd Socks Day” on the first day of Anti-Bullying Week in 2017. On Odd Socks Day, diversity was celebrated and awareness was raised. Over seven million adolescents participated in Anti-Bullying Week in 2020. Over one hundred school personnel and three hundred students collaborated to create the theme “United Against Bullying.”
