Black Lives Matter Day 2023: Date, History, Facts

Black people are typically considered African immigrants who have settled in various parts of the world. Ham, one of Noah's three sons, is said to have settled in Africa, and his descendants are the ones currently living there and expanding into other regions.

Black Lives Matter Day is observed annually on February 26 in remembrance of Trayvon Martin, an African-American teenager who was killed out of hatred by a white American. George Zimmerman’s acquittal from the murder charge and freedom sparked a wave of widespread outrage that led to nationwide campaigns for fairness and justice for African Americans. Black Lives Matter is a chant against racism and violence against black individuals. Participate in the movement to eliminate discrimination and proclaim equality for all.

The background of Black Lives Matter Day

Black people are typically considered African immigrants who have settled in various parts of the world. Ham, one of Noah’s three sons, is said to have settled in Africa, and his descendants are the ones currently living there and expanding into other regions. The Hamitic population has been enslaved in one form or another since the African dynasties of Hamitic origins lost control of their lands around 1300 B.C. and the Semitic dynasties took over.

Black people have been severely persecuted and mistreated, sold into slavery, and deprived of fundamental human rights. In search of better lives and living conditions, they migrated to various parts of the world, where, for the most part, little changed. Those who immigrated to America before and after the American Revolution were enslaved until the end of the Civil War, when slavery was abolished. Slavery may have ended, but it led to the beginning of hate crimes because black people were not white and so many people around the world believed in white superiority.

Throughout history, we have consistently witnessed black people suffering. They are casually mistreated, subjected to discrimination, and viewed with contempt. Some individuals go the extra mile and murder black individuals. A similar incident occurred in Florida on February 22, 2012, when a Hispanic-American man named George Zimmerman fatally shot a 17-year-old African-American teen. Incidents such as the murder of George Floyd by a white police officer have demonstrated that black lives are worthless.

Black Lives Matter Day began as a decentralised movement to end racial discrimination and injustice, united against this persecution. Various social organisations and bodies have raised their voices in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and openly backed the cause. Since the assassination of George Floyd, the chant has gained more support and been promoted on nearly every major forum.

5 FACTS CONCERNING THE BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT

After the death of Trayvon Martin in 2012, two more deaths in 2014 led to widespread recognition of the Black Lives Matter campaign.

This movement’s primary objective is to end white supremacy.

Some individuals criticise the chant, not because they are racist, but because they demand that “All Lives Matter” accomplish even more.

A report found that non-white people are 150 percent more likely to be killed by police in the United States.

The movement gained widespread celebrity support as virtually everyone took to Twitter and Instagram to express their support.
