Pirate radio, also known as Caroline FM, is the biggest pirate station in the UK. It was never really illegal because it was broadcast from a boat outside of any country's borders.
Broadcast Traffic Professionals Day 2023: Broadcast Traffic Professionals Day, also called National Professional’s Day or National Traffic Directors Day, is held every year on November 2 to honor the day that the United States’ first radio program took place, which was November 2, 1920. This day is held to honor this important event and show our gratitude for the hard work of those who work in broadcasting and provide us with their services. Broadcast traffic workers put in a lot of hard work on news, talk shows, ads, and shows to keep us entertained and interested. Today is a celebration of their dedication to their jobs.
On Christmas Eve 1906, Reginald Aubrey Fessenden sent out the first known radio show in the United States from his test station at Brant Rock. A poem was read, two pieces of music were played, and there was a short talk that ship radio operators could hear from several hundred miles away. Many people ran experimental radio stations with a range of only a few miles after the end of World War I, when radio limits were eased.
KDKA in Pittsburgh was the first commercial radio station. On the evening of November 2, 1920, it broadcast the results of the Harding-Cox presidential race. The KDK broadcast and the music shows that started after it was big hits, inspiring other people to set up similar stations. Eight stations were running in the United States by the end of 1921.
In 1921 and 1922, more radio listening sets and the parts needed to build them at home were sold. Following that, there was a significant increase in the number of stations sending signals. As of November 1, 1922, 564 radio and TV stations had licenses. Congress passed the Radio Act in 1927. It set up the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), an organization that now gives wavelengths to stations.
Find out more about what the stations did. Broadcasting has a long and interesting past. Read up on it to learn how it has moved forward.
Make more people aware of how broadcasting helps move the world forward. Also, let people know that people who work in media are dedicated to providing us with the best services.
Thank people who work in media for all the hard work they do. Thank them from the bottom of your heart and let them know you value them.
