Bunker Hill Day occurs every year on June 17. Typically, it is celebrated in Boston, Massachusetts. This holiday commemorates the June 1775 Revolutionary War engagement. General William Howe led 2,200 British troops into battle, while Colonel William Prescott lead the same number of Americans. In their attack near Bunker Hill, the British lost over a thousand men. Unfortunately, the American revolutionaries ran out of ammunition and were forced to combat the British bayonets with only the muzzles of their muskets. This holiday honours the valour of our nation’s warriors.

It also reminds individuals to value their freedom as much as those who fought for it. It inspires the newer generation with courage and encourages them to live courageously.
