Candle Day: History
Candle Day has been celebrated every year since 2013. On that day, candle lovers from all over the country get together on the first Saturday of December to take advantage of Bath & Body Works’ annual candle sale. It will only cost $9.50 to buy three-wick candles, which normally cost about $25. Some places will change their hours so they open earlier and stay open later, giving customers more time to browse the store and find their favourite candles.
Since the beginning of time, people who make candles have added scents to make them smell better. In China, light “time clocks” were the first to do it. People often put incense sticks into the wax to make it smell better and help people relax. There were times when incense was randomly put inside the candle, making the smell change all the time. Candles became very popular again in the 1980s and 1990s, and this time it spread around the world. This was partly because they looked nice, but it was also because they could help stressed-out, overworked homeowners relax by using the aromatherapy of scented candles.
Bath & Body Works is an American store that was started in 1990 in New Albany, Ohio. It is part of the L Brands family of stores. In September 1990, the first store for the company opened in a mall in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Bath & Body Works at Home is a second name that came out in 1997. It was soon changed to Slatkin before settling on White Barn Candle Company, which is the name it has now. In 2006, the company put out its first winter catalogue, its website, and its first TV spot. Net sales for the year ending January 28, 2006, were $2.3 billion, which was a lot more than any other L Brand company except Victoria’s Secret.

Why We Love National Candle Day
They’re chilling out.
Some people believe that burning scented wax in your house can help you relax and calm down, even though aromatherapy isn’t exactly a proven science. This is especially true after a long day at work when you just want to take a break and relax.
They make our houses smell good.
Our homes can get a little weird when we have pets, kids, or just live there every day. Even more so if you live in a small room that doesn’t let much air flow. There are times when we need to get rid of the smell that comes with a place, and candles can help. Of course, a deep clean would also be nice, but how are we going to find the time?
They are pretty.
A bright candle on your coffee table or bookcase in the living room can be both a statement piece that ties the room together and a source of pleasant scents.
