Electronic Greetings Day 2023: On November 29, we observe Electronic Greetings Day by sending electronic cards to all the individuals on our contact list with whom we have not had a recent conversation. In 2005, a mere 5% of the American population was active on social media platforms. Digital greeting cards or postcards created using digital media are known as electronic cards, or e-cards. Typically distributed through email or social media, these cards do not necessitate physical printing by the recipient. Considered the pioneer of social networking sites, SixDegrees enabled users to create personal networks, sign up with their email addresses, and add contacts.

Online photo sharing platforms like Photobucket and Flickr were the first, while YouTube revolutionized video sharing. In 2006, Facebook and Twitter became the two most popular social media platforms worldwide, causing a global sensation.
