The background of National Boss Babes Day

Heather Schwendeman-Kincaid created National Boss Babes Day in June 2021 to honour her mother, Donna Schwendeman. Like the original boss babe in her life, Schwendeman-Kincaid attributes her success to her mother, who over the years was entrepreneurial and engaged in a variety of endeavours.

She had done it all, from being a Girl Scout mom to a resident Avon woman. She also designed blouses with iron-on and puffy paint embellishments. All of her memories of her mother influenced her values and work ethic, defining what it means to be a genuine boss babe. The most remarkable aspect of Mrs. Schwendeman’s performance was her unwavering dedication while juggling her responsibilities as a mother of three children.

Schwendeman-Kincaid would question herself, “What would mum do?” whenever she was confronted with a challenge. Her mother was an inspiration to all women, encouraging them to be the best versions of themselves and to take advantage of every opportunity. Heather founded her small business based on these principles to pursue her goal of being her own boss and having the freedom to do what she loves. Another reason for establishing National Boss Babes Day was to encourage women to realise their true potential — to unleash their inner boss babe.

In 2021, a fundraiser was conducted in honour of the creation of National Boss Babes Day and to help spread the message of this day’s significance. To continue honouring Mrs. Schwendeman and her message, devote the energy and time you have today to pursuing your pursuits and assisting other women!
