National Happy Hour Day 2023: National Happy Hour begins at 7:00 pm on November 12th. If you are at your preferred watering hole with a group of friends, enjoying complimentary or discounted buffalo wings, chips and salsa, fries, and perhaps some coconut shrimp with cocktails or beer, then you are in luck. Without it, life would be dull, so indulge yourself!
Unbelievably, something that the majority of us associate with leisure time in predominantly urban environments originated in 1914 with the United States Navy. Nevertheless, “Happy Hour” social organizations did exist in 1900.
The origins of happy hours can be traced back to the early stages of the Mexican-American War. Amid the occupation of Veracruz Harbor, destitute reporters sought to fill mundane stories with American sailors aboard the U.S.S. Arkansas, as earlier combat had exhausted all the exciting prose. Notifications, such as the headline “‘The Happy Hour’ Aboard Ship Makes U.S. Tars (short for “tar heels,” a slang term for North Carolina sailors) Contented” from the “Washington Times” of May 1, 1914, were prevalent. Boxing matches, dancing, and drinking enlivened the social hours following a busy day. Despite the explicit prohibition of alcoholic beverages on naval vessels commencing in 1899, it is possible that sailors managed to smuggle booze onto board.
Towards the conclusion of World War II, happy hours had become a “thing.” The practice of relaxation had permeated all U.S. naval fleets. On April 25, 1959, however, an article in the “Saturday Evening Post” popularized the phrase “happy hour” beyond the Navy. As reported by “Bustle,” an article titled “The Men Who Chase Missiles” delineated the perils faced by individuals who “inhabited and labored on secluded island outposts in the course of monitoring Cape Canaveral’s missile discharges… “With the rare exception of those who overspend during “happy hour” at the bar, the cash accumulates rapidly.”
Although we sincerely appreciate National Happy Hour Day, the day itself is not officially recognized. It is possible that today is one of those days where the internet has created an immensely enjoyable experience. Thus, let’s arrange to meet at the tavern right after work, say, around 6 p.m., today.

Although we do not believe that alcohol is necessary to get along with our coworkers, it certainly does not harm. Following a challenging day at the workplace, unwind with the individuals who provided support throughout the ordeal. Despite the fact that we all have obligations beyond the workplace, there are instances when a pleasant Happy Hour is sufficient to keep us sane (and cordial)!
We have the opportunity to explore a new establishment—at a reduced price.

However, the amount of money you save by avoiding complete payment during happy hour provides ample flexibility to accommodate your taxi requirements.
