On April 4, we will demonstrate our gratitude for journalists in a significant fashion. Indeed, we are excited to observe National Hug a Newsperson Day! This is the day we recognise everyone who helps us remain informed, from major anchors like Anderson Cooper to the weatherman who pronounced Llanfairpwllgwynyllgogerychwyrndrobwllantysiliogogogoch without a hitch. (Check it out; it’s incredible; he deserves the biggest greeting of all.) Therefore, prepare to embrace your favourite news anchor, even if it means wrapping your television in a bizarre embrace.

We’re confident you saw this coming, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t remind you to be kind to those newsreaders. Note, however, that we are not advising you to pursue your favourite incredibly famous television anchor. Your local meteorologist deserves as much respect as Anderson Cooper! Find your local anchors and give them the warmest embraces they’ve ever received.
If you already read the daily news, you are a wonderful person and we adore you. But if you don’t, now is the ideal time to change your ways. Pay homage to your favourite journalist by viewing his or her work. You may even wish to discover additional news anchors you appreciate watching. They labour hard so that we can remain informed; ensure that their efforts are not in vain.
Almost certainly, national news presenters are aware of the nation’s reliance on their coverage. Therefore, you should let your favourite local journalist know how much you appreciate him or her. Local news anchors are significantly easier to contact than their national counterparts, and they will be ecstatic that you made the time to write to them. They will be reassured that all the times they woke up at 4:00 a.m. weren’t in vain!
