National Inane Answering Message Day 2024: The 30th of January is designated as National Inane Answering Message Day across the entirety of the United States. This national celebration is a clear call-out to all of the foolish answering messages that people use on their phones, such as “Hey, wait for the beep to leave a message, and wait for the sun to set to open a bottle of wine.” The word “inane” denotes silly or senseless, and this national observance is a straight call-out to all of those messages. Because these individuals spend our valuable time setting up irresponsible caller songs, we need to make it clear that we do not like them.
The origins of National Inane Answering Message Day may be traced back to the year 2001, when Thomas and Ruth Roy, the founders of Wellcat, claimed the day as part of their collection of Funky Holidays. Over the past eighty days, the Roys have granted them special recognition and co-opted them. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to those individuals who leave messages on their phones for an extended period, which is not only incomprehensible but also frequently patronizing.
Inane responses to messages are as typical of the American way of life as apple pie. One of our favorite things to do is to give this relatively standard kind of greeting a personal touch. You may recall how Ross, a character from the television program “Friends,” had the intention of including a rendition of the song “We Will Rock You” by Queen as his shared response message with Joey and Chandler.
Imagine what it would be like to hear the phrase “we will call you back” daily, especially before leaving a message that is extremely critical or urgent. You don’t want to hear a completely ridiculous message if you’re trying to initiate a serious conversation in a world that moves quickly. It is also crucial to avoid wasting the recipient’s time with meaningless messages.
A nice day to revisit your answering message and eliminate any wacky or stupid components from it is National Inane Answering Message Day. This day is an excellent opportunity to do so. In addition, you can scold your coworkers, friends, and family members who have met the criteria to do better.
I was wondering when the last time was that you gave your contact book a thorough examination. You have preserved phone numbers from ten years ago, as well as chats from groups that you no longer belong to. Given that we are already engaged in the process of analyzing our responses to messages received on January 30, it is high time that we remove the garbage from our contact list as well.
The majority of our chats take place on WhatsApp, thus we must create a status that accurately portrays who we are. National Inane Answering Message Day serves as a reminder to update your WhatsApp if it is currently set to the “available” status before the holiday.
Why not give an old buddy a call or, even better, leave a message for them while you are basking in the glow of nostalgia on this day that is certain to be a lot of fun? The days of having conversations over the phone are long gone; it’s time to bring back the good old days.

If one takes the statement at its value, it does not appear to be a significant issue. However, if a completely insignificant message is a consistent source of annoyance, then now is the day to call it out.
It is the intention of those who send us meaningless messages to waste our time. There is no other reason why they would want to begin with a joke or a one-liner that is so ridiculous. This abuse of power must not be allowed to go unchecked; we must call them out with all our might.
Is it really necessary for us to receive deliberate silliness when we are contacting someone for crucial business conversations? The answer is no, and the day that we celebrate National Inane Answering Message Day gives us the chance to put an end to having to deal with this issue.
