National Men Make Dinner Day 2023: Date, History, Activities, Significance

Dads, teach your boys how to chop, mix, and wash. Moms, you can start tomorrow since you're taking out.

National Men Make Dinner Day 2023: National Today is all about giving people power, no matter what form it takes. That’s especially true on National Men Make Dinner Day, which is November 2 this year, the first Thursday in November! Ladies and gentlemen, put on an apron, practice your knife skills, and cook delicious meals for yourself, your friends, and your family tonight! There are still a lot of guys in America who aren’t taught how to cook and don’t have the confidence or initiative to go into the kitchen and make a meal for themselves or someone they care about. Today is all about giving guys the strength to make something nice.

THE HISTORY OF NATIONAL MEN’S DAY

About 500,000 years ago, people first started cooking. We’ve been cooking food for a long time, for men, women, and children alike. In fact, many scholars think this practice may have started as early as 1 million years ago.

You don’t have to make a five-course steak dinner just because it’s National Men Make Dinner Day, though. A big, healthy salad is enough for dinner for four people. It’s also a fairly new idea that one group was responsible for making the meals. This idea is quickly becoming outdated in today’s society. It didn’t matter who made dinner 5,000 years ago; someone did.

Any and all men need to step up their game and go back to their prehistoric roots by getting as good at cooking as they are at using their often-forgotten kitchen knives.

THE NATIONAL MEN DO DINNER DAY THINGS

Men, make dinner

You should start cooking today if you’re a man who doesn’t think of himself as a cook. You can look up a favorite recipe, open a magazine, or call your mom and ask her what you should make for your adventure. Already know how to cook? Good job! Today is a good day to use your skills instead of getting takeout.

If you’re a woman, get a man to make you dinner

We don’t believe in a fight of the sexes, but on National Men Make Dinner Day, we think women should stand up. Take this chance to ask any guys in your family to cook dinner for you if you’re usually the one who does it. Not any guys around? Pick a place with a man on the line if you want to get takeout.

Show a kid how to cook

The present day is a great time for parents to begin teaching their kids, especially boys, how to help cook. Dads, teach your boys how to chop, mix, and wash. Moms, you can start tomorrow since you’re taking out.

WHY WE LOVE NATIONAL MEN’S DAY OF DINNER

Cooking is something everyone should know

It feels great and is very rewarding to cook a meal for yourself or for other people. A lot of people, mostly guys, don’t feel like they need to learn how to cook, which can make them feel useless in the kitchen. This day is all about getting rid of that shame and getting everyone in the kitchen.

It’s nice to make dinner.

Making a meal for your family or friends is a great thing to do, even if you’re not very good at cooking. Your family and friends will appreciate it whether you go fancy or keep it easy with pasta and a can of sauce.

Now is a great time to think about gender roles again

This holiday comes just a few weeks before Thanksgiving, which is a great time to remind many men that a woman’s place isn’t always in the home and that a man’s place can be there too! It’s common for families to have traditions where men watch sports and women cook. But today is a reminder that who cooks shouldn’t depend on their gender!
