When federal government contractors violate the Trade Agreement Act by providing commodities, they have committed Trade Agreement Act Fraud. The Act prohibits companies with federal contracts from utilising or supplying products imported from countries without reciprocal trade agreements with the United States; doing so is considered fraud. According to statistics, up to 10 percent of government funds are lost to fraud. It is feasible that more than $50 billion in annual military funds are lost. Consequently, it is essential to uncover such fraudulent activities. The Department of Justice provides whistleblowers with up to 30 percent of the amount they assist in recovering.
