National Day of Respect for Canada is observed on July 15. Canada, also known as the Great White North, is a gorgeous country with many reasons to be proud, which justifies its national day. Canada ranks sixth in terms of entrepreneurship and seventh in terms of the simplicity of starting a new business. Canada’s law enforcement makes it one of the safest countries in which to reside. Numerous internationally renowned musicians, performers, and actors hail from Canada. Not to mention its magnificent landscapes, which include beautiful lakes and snow-capped mountains. The background of National Respect Canada Day

The Vikings, whose ancestors had sailed from Norway to Iceland, were the first foreigners to experience Canada following the crossing of the Inuit. Leif, the son of Eric the Red, discovered North America during a voyage around the year 1000 A.D. Those who did travel to Canada encountered a thriving trade network between Europeans and Native Americans. In 1534, French explorer Jacques Cartier claimed Canada and christened it New France.

In 1759, when New France became a British province, attempts to anglicise 70,000 French Canadians were too ambitious.
1867 saw the establishment of a unified Dominion of Canada in response to discontent with British authority and rebellions demanding an elected assembly. The British North America Act of 1867 united the four distinct provinces of Upper Canada, Lower Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick into a single Dominion within the British Empire called Canada on July 1, 1867.

During both World Wars, Canadian and British forces fought together. At the conclusion of World War II, Canada was left in a position of relative strength, and its standard of living increased. In 1949, Canada’s tenth province, Newfoundland, entered the Confederation.
