To save their souls, many of his devotees sold their possessions and began to do good. A retired subway worker spent $140,000 of his retirement assets on billboards announcing the impending Rapture.

However, nothing occurred when the day arrived. There was no change to the world and no devastation. From that point forward, Camping and his forecasts became a punchline. On the other hand, the 21st of May became a popular celebration date where people danced the night away!
