Solar Eclipse (Surya Grahan) June 2020 Date, Timings in India Live Updates: With the India experiencing the first solar eclipse of the year on Sunday morning, those who believe that a Grahan (Eclipse) is not just a celestial phenomenon shall observe Sutak.
The June 21 solar eclipse is all set to start at 9:15 AM IST and will be visible until 3:04 PM IST. However, the maximum eclipse will take place at 12:10 IST.
According to experts, the eclipse will be visible from much of Asia, Africa, the Pacific, the Indian Ocean, parts of Europe and Australia. The next solar eclipse visible from India will take place on October 25, 2022.
Sutak for adults begins at 9:52 PM on June 20 and ends at 1:49 PM on June 21.
Sutak for children, senior citizens and those who are ill starts from 5:24 AM to 1:49 PM on June 21.
Grahan starts at 10:20 AM
The maximum Grahan will be at 12:02 PM
The Grahan shall end at 01:49 PM
Surya Grahan or solar eclipse is a very significant day. According to Hindu mythology, eclipses or grahan are considered to be inauspicious. Hence, there are many guidelines mentioned in Hindu tradition for all the do’s and don’t and mantras to recite during the grahan timings

Pregnant women must extra alert. They should put the curtains of doors/windows to prevent sun rays from entering during the time of Grahan.
One should add blades of the Darbha or Kusha grass or Tulsi leaves to the utensils containing food grains and water bottles before the Grahan starts.
One should also chant Mantras dedicated to, the Sun God (Surya Devta)
Offer your prayers to the Lord and then break the fast.
Don’ts
One should not look at the sun with the naked eye. He/ she avoid seeing the sun.
Don’t go out and stay indoors.
While pregnant women must not sleep or do any activity during this period, they should not eat anything until you take a bath after the Grahan is over.
