This year, the National Day of Joy is observed on June 28, the last Wednesday of June. We intend to observe it by discovering pleasure outside of society’s prescribed norms. The pursuit of happiness is frequently associated with material possessions, but neglects family. National Day of Joy began when carers realised the significance of senior citizens’ happiness. Enjoying ordinary moments enhances overall happiness. It is independent of external circumstances. This includes both wealth and status. It is the capacity to find joy at all times and in the smallest of things.

The best way to discover happiness is to stop comparing yourself to others. Beginning conversations with those around you is a wonderful way to ignite your joy. Kindness to others brings immense happiness. The best method to reignite joy is to appreciate the little things and beautiful moments of each day. “Happiness does not just happen to us. Henri Nouwen stated, “We must choose joy and continue to choose it daily.”
