November 20 is observed annually as Transgender Day of Remembrance. This holiday is intended to honor, commemorate, and memorialize those across the nation who (often on a daily basis) encounter stigma and discrimination. In addition to advocating for the rights of transgender people, this holiday highlights the ongoing challenges they encounter on a daily basis and encourages others to extend their support, optimism, and affection.
