History Of The UAE

Britain came into the picture in 1820 and offered to protect the groups in exchange for some land control. The many groups took Britain up on his offer to settle their disagreements because they were desperate for peace. It was 1968 when Britain pulled out of the picture because it was losing money.

The leaders of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Al-Ain, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain agreed to work together after Britain left the situation. They said they were no longer under British rule on December 2, 1971, and became known as the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In the end, Ras Al Khaimah, the seventh emirate, also joined this group. What’s the best part? They were able to get rid of colonial power and join together without any violence.
