UAE National Day 2023: It’s almost time for the UAE National Day on December 2! This year, let’s remember how important the event was in the past and honor the people who planned the creation of the UAE. Come with me as I look at what the date means.

History Of The UAE

The United Arab Emirates hasn’t always been the strong country it is now. In reality, the country was split up into parts ruled by different, rival tribal groups. Britain came into the picture in 1820 and offered to protect the groups in exchange for some land control. The many groups took Britain up on his offer to settle their disagreements because they were desperate for peace. It was 1968 when Britain pulled out of the picture because it was losing money.

The leaders of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Al-Ain, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain agreed to work together after Britain left the situation. They said they were no longer under British rule on December 2, 1971, and became known as the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In the end, Ras Al Khaimah, the seventh emirate, also joined this group. What’s the best part? They were able to get rid of colonial power and join together without any violence.

Today, the flag of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was raised to mark the coming together of the seven emirates and the official creation of the UAE. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was chosen as the first president of the UAE. He was the richest of the seven emirates and was the Emir of Abu Dhabi. UAE is now seen as a middle power and an important country. It has a strong economy, oil stores, lots of tourists, and some of the world’s tallest buildings. But everyone in the UAE knows that they are only powerful because seven emirates chose to join together in 1971.
