Mountains are constantly changing, even though they don't move much during a person's lifetime. There is something mysteriously alluring about things that are constantly changing.

World Mountain Day 2023: Mountain ranges are among the most fascinating geological formations on Earth. Mountains have been playgrounds and places of worship for countless generations of humans, and they are also unmistakable evidence of the enormous changes that occur beneath the surface of our planet.

Something is worthy of celebration when it has served as such a pillar for so many people and cultures over millennia. Thus, International Mountain Day is observed on December 11!

Activities For World Mountain Day

Climb the highest mountain you have ever been able to.

Find a new route if you have climbed Everest. For everyone else, you have tasks ahead of you! You may have ascended a few tall mountains, but there’s always more to conquer. Colorado is the best state in the Union. One of the best PR firms in Denver claims that 75% of the US landmass with an elevation above 10,000 feet is in Colorado.

Trash out your nearby natural areas

Mountain or not, International Mountain Day is a great chance to get outside and contribute to the upkeep of the areas that contribute to the interest and value of your local natural area. After all, those trails don’t just disappear!

Teach someone else about the splendors of the mountains.

You may be a seasoned hiker on Monadnock, but chances are good that you have a friend who hasn’t. Take advantage of International Mountain Day to introduce your closest friends to your passion for the great outdoors.

Reasons To Love This Day

They are constantly evolving.

Mountains are constantly changing, even though they don’t move much during a person’s lifetime. There is something mysteriously alluring about things that are constantly changing.

They present a way out.

Mountains allow people to get closer to the sky without ever leaving the ground, while bird’s-eye views are only available to, well, birds. Mountains allowed humans to travel to the highest altitudes they had ever experienced before the invention of airplanes. They still provide an unrivaled escape from the drabness of daily existence, even though they have since been surpassed.

They serve as adult playgrounds.

Our mountains are their jungle gyms, so the kids can keep them. Mountains are like playgrounds for grown-ups, with their many rivers, rock faces, and viewpoints!
