There are 41,415 species on the red list from the International Union for Conservation of Nature right now, and 16,306 of them are in very bad shape.
World Wildlife Conservation Day 2023: World Wildlife Conservation Day is December 4, and we can’t wait to get the word out about how important it is to protect Earth’s threatened plants and animals. Which animal do you think is the most likely to spread around the world? What are those? catfish? locusts? It’s people like us. Some people’s greed is putting some of nature’s most beautiful animals in danger and close to extinction, which is destroying the wildlife environment in a way that can’t be fixed.
World Wildlife Conservation Day is a time to raise awareness, think about, and do something about problems that are threatening the balance of the world’s wildlife species. People have been hunting, poaching, and killing many animal species to the point of extinction because of the black market for illegal animal parts and goods.
People have been messing with the world’s natural ecosystems for hundreds of years. In the modern era, people moved to different parts of the world and cleared land for farms. They also cut down forests to build ships and started hunting and trapping for money. Over time, hunting and poaching wildlife became more popular, and around the world, wildlife populations began to drop.
On November 8, 2012, Hillary Clinton, who was Secretary of State at the time, asked people to be more aware of World animals Conservation Day and get involved with protecting animals. She also talked about the White House’s plan to stop the illegal trade in wildlife around the world.
Even now, the illegal sale of endangered species on the black market is getting worse. Nations around the world are doing their best to stop poachers and shooters, and in some cases they are successful. However, not all species are safe from them. For millions of people around the world who live in or near forests, this affects not only the animals but also their daily lives. So, let’s do something and work together to protect and keep wildlife so they can live.
Get the word out.
Teaching those around you is the best and most honorable thing you can do today. Talk to your friends and family about how important it is to protect wildlife.
Make a promise.
Make a promise to protect animals. Join millions of other people in saving the world’s most vulnerable species and speaking out against illegal hunting and anything else that hurts wildlife.
Give money to the cause
The World Wildlife Fund (W.W.F.) is a charity that you can give money to. All of your donations go straight to training and equipping people who guard wildlife.
