World Youth Skills Day is annually observed on July 15. Since 2014, when the United Nations proclaimed its existence, it has been observed. The purpose of World Youth Skills Day, according to the United Nations, is to “celebrate the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship.” Typically, commemorative events provide young people with opportunities for dialogue with educational institutions, employers, policymakers, and development partners. Giving youth access to education is one of the best methods to assist them, and there are numerous scholarships available to assist them with this. As the world shifts gradually towards sustainable development, the importance of enhancing the skills of young people has grown.
The United Nations was established on October 24, 1945, after its Charter was ratified by China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States, among other signatories. It was established to replace the League of Nations, which disbanded prior to the Second World War.
Throughout its years of existence, the United Nations has played an active role in global politics. It has adapted to changes in international relations, such as the decolonization of the Global South, the end of the Cold War, the emergence of the United States as a hegemon, climate change, refugee crises, etc. Today, the United Nations is pursuing its seventeen sustainable development objectives.
