UGC Professor Of Practice Recruitment 2023: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a programme known as the “Professor of Practise” programme with the goal of attracting professionals, practitioners, and specialists from diverse backgrounds to the higher education system. The programme also seeks to attract individuals with extensive expertise. Aligned with NEP 2020, this initiative aims to revolutionise higher education by placing a greater emphasis on skill-based education and guaranteeing its relevance to the industry and economy. This initiative promotes the integration of vocational education with general education and strengthens industry-academia collaboration within higher education institutions (HEIs).
Additionally, this endeavour contributes to the enhancement of faculty resources within institutions of higher education. In the end, the collaborative efforts between academia and industry will produce graduates with the essential skills demanded by industry, resulting in substantial benefits for both industry and society.
To create a unified platform for experts and higher education institutions (HEIs), the UGC has created the pop.ugc.ac.in the portal for the Professor of Practise programme. This portal is a shared space where both experts and higher education institutions can register and find relevant opportunities. Experts have the option of registering and uploading their resumes to the portal, allowing them to search for open positions. Similarly, HEIs can use the portal to advertise their specific requirements for the Professor of Practice position and efficiently select qualified applicants from the applicant pool. By providing a centralised platform, the portal facilitates seamless collaboration and fruitful engagements by streamlining the process of connecting experts with higher education institutions.
