Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: Toll rates, car speed limit, route, other details

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: On February 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first segment of the 1,386-kilometer megahighway that connects Delhi and Mumbai. He inaugurated the 229-kilometer highway between Delhi and Jaipur in Rajasthan. The initial phase of the motorway would reduce the distance between the capital city and Jaipur to just 3.5 hours. Once completed, the Delhi-Mumbai motorway will reduce travel time between the two major cities to 12 hours. Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: All you need to know

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be the longest motorway in India at 1,386 kilometres.

It will reduce the distance between Delhi and Mumbai by 12%, from 1,424 kilometres to 1,242 kilometres, and travel time by 50%, from 24 hours to 12 hours.

The Expressway will traverse six states, including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, connecting major cities such as Kota, Indore, Jaipur, Bhopal, Vadodara, and Surat.

According to a report in Mint, the toll tax for light vehicles is Rs. 90 until Khalilpur, which is approximately 20 kilometres from the starting point. The toll tax for light commercial vehicles is Rs.

One must pay Rs. 500 for driving a light vehicle to Barkapara, and Rs. 805 for driving a light commercial vehicle. In addition to Khalilpur and Barkapara, there will also be toll gates in Samsabad, Shital, Pinan, and Dungarpur.

The highest toll is Rs. 3,215 for seven-wheeled vehicles entering Barkapara.

This toll must be paid by vehicles entering the Western Peripheral’s Khalilpur Loop from Sohna.

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway’s 40 interchanges would make Jaipur, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Kota, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat more accessible.

The 160 km stretch between Sohna and Dausa will travel through the Haryana districts of Gurugram, Palwal, and Nuh. It will include 47 villages in the district of Nuh, 11 towns in the district of Gurugram, and seven villages in Palwal.

The entire project is estimated to cost Rs 98,000 billion. The highway is anticipated to have a positive impact on the growth trajectory of neighbouring areas and contribute to the economic transformation of the nation.
