Minecraft 1.20 Release Date: This year, Mojang has decided to adopt a different strategy. Following the division of 1.19 into The Cave and Cliffs Update and The Wild Update, Mojang made the decision to create the 1.20 Update in collaboration with the community. Mojang has chosen the theme, but neither they nor any of the new features have been disclosed.

Instead, they want to ensure that this update is even more “Minecrafty” than before by soliciting feedback from the community at every stage of development. Why Does Not the Minecraft 1.20 Update Have a Name?

Many felt that the Wild Update was not sufficiently wild, and if we had known that we would need additional time to improve the Ancient Cities in response to player feedback, we probably wouldn’t have called it the Wild Update.
