OTP-based KYC: Guide to Complete KYC for PM Kisan 16th Installment!

PM Kisan, a government program, provides financial assistance to Indian farmer families with cultivable land, transferring Rs 6,000 annually to Aadhaar-seeding bank accounts.

OTP-based KYC: A government program called Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) offers financial assistance to all Indian farmer families who own cultivable land. The government provides a PM Kisan subsidy in 15 installments, with the 16th expected in February or March 2024, transferring Rs 6,000 annually to Aadhaar-seeding bank accounts.

Nonetheless, qualified farmers must finish their KYC (know your customer) process to be eligible for subsidies under the government’s PM Kisan program. Farmers who fail to do this will not be eligible for the next PM Kisan installment, even if they meet all other requirements.

What distinguishes biometric-based KYC from OTP-based KYC?

The official website states that farmers enrolled with PM Kisan require eKYC. The PM Kisan portal offers OTP-based eKYC, while biometric-based eKYC can be obtained by contacting the closest CSC centers. You can complete OTP-based KYC online by using the registered mobile number you provided. The farmer needs to go to one of the local common service centers to complete biometric-based KYC.
