What has occurred thus far in The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2’s two-season division of an arc? What implications does this have for the upcoming season? Numerous Dungeons & Dragons players now regard The Legend of Vox Machina as their favourite television show. With its second season, the obscene and bloody fantasy series, a Kickstarter-funded adaptation of the popular streaming programme for voice actors Critical Role, has made an even greater impression.

The official plot summary for Season 2 of Vox Machina reads: “In Season 2, after saving the realm from evil and destruction at the hands of Exandria’s most dreadful power couple, Vox Machina must save the world once again, this time from the Chroma Conclave.”

According to our review of the season’s final episodes, “attention to character and big action moments are likely to excite you,” and “anyone who watches this conclusion will undoubtedly tune in for Season 3, which has already been announced.” However, what actually occurs in Season 2’s climax? What will this mean for Season 3? So let’s explain.

How does Season 2 of The Legend of Vox Machina end?

There is a MAJOR SPOILER WARNING for Vox Machina’s second season. Let’s begin immediately. The majority of Season 2’s focus has been on the group of mercenaries searching for Vestiges, potent weapons, in order to stand a chance against the Chroma Conclave, who have begun occupying Tal’Dorei. They currently possess three of these weapons, but Umbrasyl, the dragon they will face in the final confrontation, has been pursuing them for the Vestiges the entire time.

Umbrasyl now requires Grog’s previous herd, the Herd of Storms, to collect gold for him and the Conclave, as he also claims Westruun as his own. Now that Grog has rejoined his herd, they all unite to attack the dragon, despite the fact that he is undoubtedly a formidable foe due to his immense size and lethal acid breath.

The herd and Vox Machina make brief attempts to capture and slay the dragon on the ground. Following the destruction of numerous goliaths, Umbrasyl soars into the sky, closely followed by Grog, who has regained his strength thanks to his friendship. In addition, Vax and Scanlan have scaled the dragon’s back to attack it from the inside, which is also ineffective. The ensuing pursuit is depicted below:

The battle resumes as the party pursues Umbrasyl to his hideout. It appears for a moment that Vox Machina will fail despite their abilities, such as Vax’s newly acquired speed and wings after accepting his position as Champion of Ravens. They are dispersed throughout the cavern, and Umbrasyl can collect each Vestige that remains. Vox Machina braced herself for death as the dragon prepared to deliver his fatal blow, noting that Grog was severely injured.

Scanlan enters. Throughout the entirety of this season, the gnome has gone through the arc of attempting to flee from danger and being thrust with a daughter against his will. It surprises him to become a parent for the first time, especially since his daughter despises him for abandoning her mother. Vax, who no longer fears death as a result of his new position, and Scanlan clash over Vax’s aversion to danger.

When everyone else is being beaten to a pulp, Scanlan considers fleeing because he cannot face the dragon while the others are injured. However, Scanlan maintains his composure and recovers one of the Vestiges while Umbrasyl is distracted. He kills the dragon by stabbing it directly in the eye.

Pike gives Scanlan a passionate kiss and tells him that she and his daughter would be proud of his sacrifice. Scanlan briefly appears to die. It turns out, however, that Scanlan was joking, and the members of Vox Machina can return home relatively unscathed.

Vox Machina’s final moments

The battle may have been won by Vox Machina, but the war is far from over. The series concludes with a montage of all the significant characters from Season 2, followed by the crew celebrating in Whitestone. However, there is a traitor among them, as suggested in earlier episodes. Yennen, one of Percy and Cass’ advisors, is actually Raishan, another dragon in disguise.

Vox Machina initially expects to engage in combat with her, but she remains in human form and declares her intentions to be an ally. It turns out that she shares their animosity toward the leader of the Chroma Conclave, Thordak, and their concern regarding his future ambitions.

In the concluding scene, Thursday and another dragon, Vorugal, are seen examining their gold and discussing the Conclave. Then, as the camera pans downward, it becomes clear that the gold is being used to house several soon-to-hatch dragon eggs.

How does this affect Season 3?

Obviously, Season 3 will continue the Chroma Conclave storyline from the web serial Critical Role, on which the television programme is based. Check out the following feeds if you wish to be informed: The animation show is condensing hundreds of hours of content, so there will invariably be minor changes, so the stream may not precisely reflect what will occur.

Given that Vox Machina has not yet eliminated the last three dragons, the Chroma Conclave will undoubtedly continue to be a cause for concern. And it appears that these dragon eggs will cause a great deal more trouble in the future.
