A liver has several functions, including generating bile, transporting the waste, and breaking down fats in the small intestine at the time of digestion.

A liver is also involved in the creation of proteins for blood plasma, the conversion of glucose into glycogen which can be retransformed into glucose to produce energy, the management of amino acids, and more.

Since all these functions highlight the importance of the liver in our bodies, diabetes can make things more difficult. If a person has diabetes, they may need to pay special attention to their liver to ensure that it is healthy and free of cirrhosis or scarring.

World Liver Day 2022: Few things you can do to keep it healthy and functioning, here they are:

To maintain your blood pressure in control, limit your sodium and caffeine intake.

Do more exercise and physical activities like gym, yoga, cycling, swimming, running, etc.

Coco cola, sodas, fizzy drinks, sweets, fruit juices, baked products, and candy are all known to induce liver disease and other metabolic disorders. As a result, it is critical that we limit our consumption of certain foods.

Eating at frequent intervals and keep track of how much you’re eating.

Every day, for half an hour, exercise and eat a diet rich in whole grains, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

Eat right foods and avoid junk or processed foods, to keep your blood sugar levels in check.
