People claim that excellent manners can open doors that even the best education cannot. It is essential to have healthy relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and clients in order to have a decent work environment that will not exhaust you.
The first Friday of September is observed as Bring Your Manners to Work Day. This year, the holiday will be observed on September 1. With our nine-to-five schedules, we likely spend more time with our work families than with our actual families. Similarly to at home, excellent manners must be observed in the workplace. This includes maintaining clean workstations and refraining from using your cell phone in the presence of others.
People claim that excellent manners can open doors that even the best education cannot. It is essential to have healthy relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and clients in order to have a decent work environment that will not exhaust you. In today’s era, good etiquette are not limited to simple actions such as holding the door open for someone or engaging in polite conversation. The manner in which we present ourselves, the use of mobile devices during meetings, and numerous other factors comprise office decorum. The Protocol School of Washington established Bring Your Manners To Work Day in 2013 to remind individuals of the significance of courtesy and good manners in the workplace.
64% of Chief Information Officers surveyed by Robert Half Technology stated that the rules of the modern workplace are changing due to the increased use of cell phones, tablets, and other electronic devices, resulting in violations and a lax attitude towards office etiquette. The percentage has increased from 51% just three years ago.
Bring Your Manners To Work Day is observed annually on the first Friday of September and serves as a much-needed reminder that workplace decorum must be observed and that poor manners are bad for business.

Observe yourself and take note of where your workplace decorum may be lacking. It is preferable to evaluate and correct oneself than to have someone else do so!
Do not limit your courtesy to a single day. Start with small adjustments, such as giving your colleague your undivided attention or removing that coffee residue from the table. Gradual changes may result in a lifestyle transformation, at least in the workplace.
Use the hashtag #BringYourMannersToWorkDay to share your amazing workplace and coworkers with the rest of the world. Not only is it entertaining, but it will also serve as a subtle hint to that colleague who needs to be more polite!
On average, we speak three times louder on the phone than in person. Please lower your volume.
Respect other people’s time by being punctual for meetings, conference calls, and everything else.
If our coworkers are our work family, then our office is our second home; therefore, you should clean up after yourself and not expect the staff to do it for you every time.
As alluring as it may be, avoid checking your phone in the presence of others; focus on them and your surroundings instead.
Do not presume it is acceptable to take items from other people’s desks without their permission.
