Restoring and collecting automobiles plays a vital role in American culture because it highlights the lucrative automobile industry from which the country has benefited tremendously. The day also features some of the finest American automobiles ever produced. Therefore, on this day, exhibit your car collection if you have one, or simply attend events where classic cars are displayed and celebrated.

The Specialty Auto Parts Association (SAN) is a partnership between vehicle organisations, enthusiasts, and members of the specialty auto parts industry across the nation. The objective of the partnership is to take all necessary measures to promote car collecting as a hobby. Since its inception in 1997, SAN has fought against factors that impede the expansion of the automobile collection and restoration industry.
SAN works to create favourable laws for car aficionados, provides a platform for approximately 36 million vintage car enthusiasts, and has produced over 100 publications. SAN is also responsible for assisting the U.S. Senate in enacting a resolution authorising the annual celebration of Collector Car Appreciation Day. On July 9, 2010, an official celebration was held in which vintage automobiles were restored to life.
To kick off the launch of the day with a bang, hundreds of car display events were conducted across the nation. Some of these events included automobile shows and car cruises that attracted people of various ages and social classes. All events were centred on the influence of automobiles on American culture, including music, film, and other aspects of American life.
