Chandra Darshan Significance

In the Hindu faith, the first moon sighting following Amavasya is of immense sacred significance. On the day of Chandra Darshan, people observe a 12-hour fast, which they don’t break until they have seen the new moon. Hinduism views the moon as one of the most significant heavenly bodies since it stands for intelligence, vigour, purity, sensitivity, and happiness. It is highly lucky to see the moon on the day of Chandra Darshan as it brings wealth and fortune. On this day, devotees offer prayers to Chandra Dev or Lord Chandra.

The “renowned” deity among the Nine Planets (Navagraha) of Vedic Astrology is Chandra, also known as the Moon or Soma. The moon is also credited with bringing meditation and focus as well as controlling the power of the mind. The Kundali of a person is represented by the location of the moon in the horoscope in Indian astrology. Hindu mythology holds that the moon has a significant impact on our lives.
