Narasimha Jayanti: Narasimha Jayanti is a Hindu festival and a day of good fortune that honours Lord Vishnu. It is observed on Shukla Paksha Vaisakh Chaturdashi. Lord Narasimha is the fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu’s Dashavatara as a man-lion hybrid.
According to the Puranas, Narshimha’s form manifested at the sunset of Chaturdashi; therefore, rituals are performed at sunset.

According to legend, Hiranyakashypu received a unique boon from Lord Brahma that prevented him from being vanquished by anyone.
Even his son Prahlad, a devotee of the god Vishnu, was a target of his escalating brutality. To protect Prahlad, Lord Vishnu assumed the form of Narshimha and killed Hiranyakashypu, demonstrating that only Dharma can prevail in this world.
On Vaisakh Chaturdashi, Vishnu assumed the form of Narshimha in order to slay the demon Hiranyakashipu. This was the Lord’s fourth incarnation, and he had the visage of a lion and the body of a man.

On this day, worshippers fast. They rise very early in the morning, bathe, and prepare for the pooja. The image or idol of Lord Narshimha and Goddess Laxmi will be placed on the altar, which will be decorated with flowers before a puja is performed.
Gramme dal and jaggery are given as an offering to God. Lord is presented with sweets, kumkum, kesar, etc. The Rudraksh mala is used to recite the Narasimha mantra. On this day, devotees donate clothing, sesame seeds, precious metals, etc. to the impoverished.
Devotees consume Sankalp in the afternoon and perform puja before sunset in the evening.
People must observe the fast until the morning of the next day. It is believed that abstaining on this day will alleviate all difficulties. Typically, the fast is terminated when the Chaturdashi tithi ends.
