When is Holika Dahan in 2023: Holi is one of the most celebrated festivals in India and typically occurs in March. During this festival, there are celebrations across the country and even the globe. Purnima Tithi begins at 4:17 PM on March 6, 2023, and ends at 6:09 PM on March 7, 2023, on the day of Holika Dahan.
From the eighth day of the bright half of the month of Falgun to the full moon of Falgun, Holashtak is observed. During this eight-day period, all virtuous actions are prohibited. On the day of Purnima (full moon), the Holika Dahan bonfire ceremony is performed.

In Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, Doljatra is celebrated instead of Holi. Essentially it is the same festival as Holi Dahan, but has added emphasis as it is the last festival of the Bengali year.
