National Cotton Candy Day 2023: Date, History and our love for this day

Cotton candy is mess-free and simple to store. All it is in less than a minute—soft clouds of sugar that are easily folded up and consumed.

National Cotton Candy Day 2023: On December 7, we celebrate National Cotton Candy Day, much to the chagrin of our dentists and delight of our sweet tooths. However, did you know that its original inventors were dentists? Back then, it was even known as fairy floss. These days, it’s a need when riding a Ferris wheel and the preferred beverage at county fairs. The cloud of sugar that is cotton candy is a staple of most of our childhood memories. Continue reading to learn about its past and find out how to honor one of the most romantic days of the year.

Events for National Cotton Candy Day

Suck on as much cotton candy as you can

Purchase some, then rejoice! Perhaps taste something new for the first time. A banana? A green apple? Sweet petal?

Give some to your childhood pals or siblings.

Celebrate with that person you enjoyed cotton candy with when you were younger. There is no doubt that pleasant memories will accompany this sweet fix.

Attempt to prepare it at home.

Do you think you could outperform the dentists who designed it? Try it out and sample some other flavors as well.

We can’t seem to get enough for three reasons.

The only real ingredient is sugar.

Since cotton candy is only made of sugar, it turns all white when spun. One can change the color by adding dye.

A cotton candy strand is tinier than a human hair strand.

Even though it’s thin, the treat has a long tail. The longest cotton candy was actually made in July 2009 and measured more than 1,400 meters.

Names for cotton candy vary from country to country.

It is referred to as candy floss in England. It’s referred to as fairy floss in Australia and Finland. It is referred to as suikerspin, or “sugar spider,” in the Netherlands. Are you visiting France? Call it “pa’s beard,” or barbe à papa.
