There is much more to admire about Chicago besides its pizza. (though their pizza is a huge draw). Why not use the holiday as an excuse to visit the epicentre of deep-dish pizza? Take a selfie in front of the Bean, watch a Cubs game at Wrigley field and visit as many deep dish pizza restaurants as possible. You could even categorise them if you wanted to.
