On June 22, 2017, Marie Barber and her husband were faced with a difficult situation, but they transformed it into something magnificent. After dinner, they celebrated with limoncello later that evening. They believed that the expression “turning lemons into limoncello” aptly described their situation at the time. The following year, on June 22, National Limoncello Day is celebrated annually.
