Ice cream has developed its own fan base as a delicacy. In both happy and sad times, ice creams of various flavours play a significant role in elevating the atmosphere. Although new ice cream brands and flavours are introduced periodically, ice cream has existed for centuries. In the fourth century B.C., the Roman emperor Nero ordered ice from the mountains and combined it with fruit garnishes, creating a dish similar to ice cream. Due to the lack of freezers at the time, there was no other means to obtain ice. During the years 618–97 A.D., King Tang of China created a method for preparing ice and milk concoctions. M. Emy of France published a collection of frozen dessert recipes in 1768. However, the first advertisement for ice cream did not appear until 1774. Following this time, ice creams began to acquire popularity.
Peach ice cream, like other ice cream flavours, has an intriguing history behind its invention. A French chef named Auguste Escoffier invented a novel dessert for a dinner party. The dessert was a swan-shaped ice sculpture that rested on vanilla ice cream and was crowned with peaches and sugar. In the year 1900, the chef devised a new dessert featuring peaches with raspberry puree. This combination of flavours and ingredients lead to the development of peach ice cream.
