National Refreshment Day 2023: Date, History, Facts, Activities

National Refreshment Day was first observed by Traveller Beers in 2015. The American enterprise was founded in 2012. The founders wanted to combine European shandy flavours with American ones to give the American beer industry a refreshing look and feel.

National Refreshment Day is observed on the fourth Thursday of July, which is July 27 this year. The day focuses our attention on the essential de-stressing activities required for mental and physical health. With all the technology and daily grind of 21st-century life, many of us feel so drained and fatigued that even lifting a finger seems like the most difficult task. Moreover, the summer heat has rendered us all lethargic and yearning for the comfort of air conditioning. However, in addition to air conditioning, you can chill off and refresh yourself by drinking refreshing beverages. This holiday was therefore created to promote summer beverages such as lager and lemonade. After reviving yourself, you can be more productive and better able to complete your daily tasks.

The background of National Refreshment Day

National Refreshment Day was first observed by Traveller Beers in 2015. The American enterprise was founded in 2012. The founders wanted to combine European shandy flavours with American ones to give the American beer industry a refreshing look and feel. The Burlington-based Traveller Beer Company offers a variety of popular beers. One of their most popular products is the Grapefruit Shandy, which is described as having a citrusy and piquant aroma and a flavour reminiscent of grapefruit. Beer is a beverage that has been consumed as a refreshment for over 10,000 years. The commercialization of the beverage has also made it readily available to consumers. But if you’re not a big fan of beer, don’t fret; we have other refreshing activities covered.

The word’refreshment’ originated in Late Middle English and was originally spelt with two’s’s. Middle English borrowed the term from Old French, where it was written as “refreschement.” Throughout history, regardless of the spelling, the term has always referred to a feeling of rejuvenation and comfort after a particularly stressful period. One of the goals of the day is to emphasise the significance of finding time to unwind every day. Our days are filled with social media-related information releases, phone calls, emails, and meetings. Not to mention the numerous obligations we have at home and in our family life. We need to take a break from all this commotion, which could involve going for a walk, listening to music, eating/drinking, or simply lowering our heads and remaining mute. Whatever you decide to do, avoid feeling regretful about it. According to research, individuals who consume beverages are healthier and more productive than those who do not. Use this as an occasion to take time for your health.
