The Whole cereals Council is a non-profit consumer advocacy organisation whose mission is to promote the consumption of whole cereals for their health benefits. It has a number of initiatives, including encouraging manufacturers to create delectable whole grain products, assisting consumers in locating whole grain foods and understanding their health benefits, and assisting the media in writing compelling, accurate stories about whole grains.

Whole cereals are comprised of all the necessary components and naturally occurring nutrients of the entire grain seed. If the grain has been processed in any fashion, the final product should contain roughly the same nutrient profile as the original grain seed.

A group of millers, manufacturers, scientists, and chefs founded the Whole Grains Council in April 2002 at a Whole Grains Summit organised by Oldways Preservation Trust in San Diego.
