Annually, adverse drug reactions (A.D.R.) are responsible for 1,300,000 visits to the emergency room. A.D.E. is the most costly and most preventable hospital-acquired condition, according to the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research (A.H.R.Q.).

In 2019, approximately 4.38 billion prescriptions were filled by pharmacies. A.D.E. is the fourth-leading cause of mortality in the United States, despite the fact that it can be greatly reduced by informing the appropriate parties. The A.S.P. urges everyone to report adverse drug reactions to MedWatch, the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program.
