National Dentist’s Day 2023: Date, History, Activities

Our smiles, including our teeth, are one of the first things people notice about us, and dentists assist in maintaining their appearance.

National Dentist’s Day 2023: The sixth of March is National Dentist’s Day, a day to celebrate the men and women who keep our teeth healthy and pearly white. Dentists are physicians who focus on oral health. It is their responsibility to prevent, diagnose, and treat oral diseases, monitor the development of our teeth and jaws, and perform oral surgery! Dental health is integral to our overall health, so we honour dentists today not only for maintaining our teeth’s appearance but also for keeping our bodies in tip-top shape.

The background of National Dentist’s Day

Our smiles, including our teeth, are one of the first things people notice about us, and dentists assist in maintaining their appearance. Dentists ensure that our teeth are sparkling and our smiles are confident when we face the world, whether through encouraging us to floss or treating annoying cavities. It is easy to understand why so many individuals are terrified of visiting the dentist. No one has ever enjoyed a root canal, despite the fact that popular culture portrays going to the dentist as a dreadful experience. Dentists are there to relax us, calm us down, and get us through difficult procedures with as much grace as possible, even when their jobs are difficult. Healthy teeth indicate a healthy body, and dentists are there to keep our mouths and bodies healthy from the first time we visit. Anyone who has ever experienced a toothache knows that painful teeth can consume one’s life. Dentists, however, are there to ensure that we feel our best from head to toe.

NATIONAL DENTIST’S DAY ACTIVITIES

You should brush your teeth

Nothing makes your dentist happier than the knowledge that you maintain good oral hygiene. To celebrate National Dentist’s Day, brush your teeth for a few extra minutes. You could floss and use mouthwash today and know that your dentist is smiling somewhere in the world.

Make a dental appointment

Since we only visit the dentist twice a year, it is easy to forget to schedule an appointment. Take a few moments to schedule your next cleaning! It will give you a sense of accomplishment, and your dentist will be so pleased to see your smile!

Write a note of gratitude.

Being a dentist can be a pretty thankless job, so take a moment to write your dentist a note expressing your gratitude for her efforts. It will surely brighten her day if you let her know you brushed her teeth extra hard for her today, or simply thank you for everything you do.
