This national event recognises the significance of paediatrics, oncology, and haematology in our daily existence. This is particularly true for more specialised disciplines such as haematology and oncology, the latter of which deals directly with cancers and tumours.
Every year on September 8, National Paediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses Day is observed throughout the United States. This annual national observance was created to honour the hard work and dedication of these nurses, as well as their sacrifices. Oncology, paediatrics, and haematology are among the most vital areas of medicine, requiring the utmost care from all practitioners. On this day, these courageous nurses are recognised for their invaluable contributions and acts of devotion. Would you like to become one of these actual heroes? This national event recognises the significance of paediatrics, oncology, and haematology in our daily existence. This is particularly true for more specialised disciplines such as haematology and oncology, the latter of which deals directly with cancers and tumours.
Paediatrics has been performed since antiquity. Children’s healthcare-related medical research and treatises date back to the ancient Greeks and Byzantines. This did not become especially apparent until the late 17th century, however. During this time period, medical science advanced significantly and demonstrated that children’s maladies were distinct, necessitating a different approach to treatment.
Around the same time, other medical disciplines, such as haematology and oncology, emerged. The earliest academic antecedents of haematology as a distinct medical specialty emerged around the middle of the 17th century. As microscopes evolved, along with advances in blood cell research, a haematological study was enabled and opened new possibilities for medicine. Gal, an ancient Greek physician, was the originator of the study of tumours. However, the term was not applied until the 17th century as a recognition of the origins of this study and as an indication of its development into a medical specialty with adequate research methodologies.
These medical specialties are currently our primary defence against chronic diseases. The Association of Paediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses initiated the annual commemoration to honour the nurses in 2010.
Nursing is one of the world’s earliest professions. Its earliest known examples date back to 268 B.C. in India.
The average distance walked by nurses over the course of a shift is five miles.
In addition to hospitals, nurses can also work in schools, company offices, and athletic institutions, among others.
Nursing is one of the most sought-after professions in the United States due to its high pay and numerous benefits.
Nursing is an umbrella term that encompasses a wide range of nursing professions, from anesthesiologists to surgical nurses.
