Lupus can be difficult to diagnose because its symptoms frequently mimic those of other diseases. The predominant symptom is a facial rash that typically resembles butterfly wings unfolding across the cheekbones.

Many individuals are oblivious of the existence of lupus until they or someone they know is diagnosed with the disease. World Lupus Day was established to resolve this concern. The autoimmune disease lupus diminishes the immune system. Typically, the immune system produces antibodies to protect the body from these pathogens. Lupus induces the production of autoantibodies, which annihilate all benign cells. Throughout the body, these autoantibodies cause irritation, pain, and tissue damage.
