The background of National Comfy Day

National Comfy Day may appear to be a day to simply relax, but its origins are more intriguing than they may seem. The day was established by The Comfy Bros, the creators of “The Comfy.” For those who may not know, this is one of the world’s first wearable blankets that have become a hit. Michael and Brian Speciale developed “The Comfy” in 2017. “How?” you ask.

The story is straightforward yet extremely endearing. Michael awoke on a chilly day to see his nephew sitting on the couch with a sherpa blanket behind him. His arms and knees on the other hand were pulled into an old sweatshirt. The pair then began to consider how they could create an outfit that was a comfortable combination of a blanket and a shirt. Thus, “The Comfy” was created.

Obviously, a great deal of experimentation and prototypes were required to develop a wearable design and texture. Once the concept became a reality, however, the partners set out to make their vision a mass phenomenon. They began by attending an audition for “Shark Tank” in Denver. Before long, their cosy outfit became popular, and they were spotted advertising their wearable blanket. They eventually reached an agreement with Barbara Corcoran, and ‘The Comfy’ went on to become an extremely popular product. The product is currently available in more than 100 countries.
